What is a self-adhesive label?

A self-adhesive label (sticker) has four layers: a face material to print on, an adhesive layer, a release coating and a backing liner that you peel away when applying. Change only the face material or the adhesive, and the same label design can go on a water bottle in the fridge, a cosmetic jar in the bathroom or a carton in the warehouse. Choosing the right material matters as much as a good design.

Tamper-evident, security and warranty labels

Tamper-evident stock is made of a brittle material. If someone tries to peel the label, it breaks into small pieces and cannot be reapplied intact. It is a simple way to seal box lids, bottle necks and device screws, and lets customers see whether a product has been opened. Combined with a sequential number or a unique QR code on each label, a business can also track warranty periods per product.

Flexo or digital printing?

Flexo printing is HQPAK's main technology for roll labels: high speed and a sharply lower unit cost on large quantities, suited to products that sell steadily every month. Digital printing needs no plates and suits small sticker runs, many designs and flavours, or labels where each one carries its own data such as a barcode, QR code or sequential number.

Sheets or rolls?

For hand application in moderate volumes, choose sheets with kiss-cut labels that peel off quickly. For lines that use labelling machines, rolls are essential, and the core diameter, maximum roll diameter, label gap and unwind direction must be agreed in advance. One wrong parameter stops the machine, so HQPAK always confirms these details at the quotation stage.

Ordering labels in 5 steps

  1. Send your request: design file, size, application surface, storage conditions, quantity, and sheets or rolls (with labelling machine specifications if you have them).
  2. Receive a quotation within 24 hours of full specifications: with a recommended stock, adhesive and printing method.
  3. Prepress and sample approval: we check the die-cut line, bleed and barcodes, then send a proof or print a sample for a test application.
  4. Production: printing, lamination, die-cutting, rewinding or sheet trimming at our factory, with colour, content and die-cut quality checked.
  5. Delivery: 3-7 working days after sample approval for standard orders, delivered across Vietnam; export shipment timing is confirmed in the quotation, and rush orders are agreed separately.

Labels by industry

Electronics, components and devices

Barcode, QR code and serial number labels with unique data on each label for traceability and warehouse control; tamper-evident warranty labels on screws and housings; specification labels on durable PVC. They go with PE foam cushioning and paper boxes in one packaging set.

F&B: food and drink

Labels for bottles, jars and pouches; lid seals; secondary labels showing ingredients and expiry. For chilled products, use PP with an adhesive suited to cold surfaces so the label does not lift.

Cosmetics

Clear or silver stock with matt lamination for a premium feel; waterproof PP for products used in the bathroom.

FMCG and consumer goods

Roll labels for automatic labelling machines, promotional labels, and barcode labels for supermarkets and e-commerce channels.

Garment, fashion and footwear

Size stickers for bags, product barcode labels and sequentially numbered labels for batch control, supplied with polybags and fabric labels in the same order.

Export goods, household products and logistics

Carton labels, barcode labels to your buyer's specification, and sequentially numbered labels for batch control; paper labels for dry cartons, and PP when the warehouse is humid or the goods travel by sea.

Tips for durable, compliant label design

  • Measure the real application surface: round bottles and tapered jars need curvature allowed for, so the label edges do not wrinkle.
  • Leave 1-2 mm of bleed and keep text away from the die-cut line so it is not clipped.
  • Make barcodes large enough, with enough contrast: print black on a light background and do not shrink them too far, so scanners read them reliably.
  • Label content: for food and cosmetics, check all mandatory content under the applicable labelling regulations before approving the print.
  • Laminate when needed: labels that get rubbed or wet should be laminated to keep their colour longer.

What affects the cost of self-adhesive labels

The cost depends on quantity, size, label material and adhesive, number of colours, lamination, foil, die-cut style, sheets or rolls, and the number of designs. Send your file through the quotation request form to receive a recommended option and an exact quotation within 24 hours of full specifications.

Frequently asked questions

What does the cost of self-adhesive labels depend on?

The cost depends on quantity, size, label material and adhesive type, number of colours, lamination or foil, die-cut style, sheets or rolls, and the number of designs in the order. The larger the order, the lower the unit cost. Send your file and quantity to HQPAK and we will return a quotation within 24 hours of receiving full specifications.

Can I order stickers in small quantities?

Yes. Small orders are printed digitally, with no plate cost, which suits new products, trial batches and many small designs. Large orders and volume roll labels are printed by flexo for a better unit cost. HQPAK advises on the option that fits your actual quantity.

How long does label printing take?

Standard orders take 3-7 working days after sample approval, depending on quantity, material and finishing; export shipment timing is confirmed in the quotation. Rush orders can be arranged separately.

Should I choose paper labels or PP and PVC plastic labels?

Paper labels are economical, print well and suit dry products used indoors. PP is waterproof and oil-resistant, a good fit for food and cosmetic bottles and jars. PVC is flexible and bonds well to curved surfaces and tougher environments. Clear labels give a look as if printed directly on the pack; silver stock gives a premium appearance.

Does HQPAK print roll labels for automatic labelling machines?

Yes. HQPAK prints roll labels to the core diameter, maximum roll diameter, label gap and unwind direction your labelling machine requires. Send the machine specifications or an old sample roll so we get it right the first time.

How should I prepare my sticker artwork?

Send AI, PDF or CDR files at the correct size, with the die-cut line on its own layer, about 1-2 mm of bleed, text converted to outlines and Pantone colours marked where used. If you do not have a file, the HQPAK prepress team can build one from the logo and content you send.

Can HQPAK print barcodes, QR codes and sequential numbers on labels?

Yes. With digital printing, each label can carry different data such as a barcode, a QR code or a sequential number, for warehouse management, traceability and warranty.
