What is a polybag?

A polybag is a thin plastic bag used to pack individual products: a shirt before it goes in the carton, an electronic component before it goes in the box, a consumer pack before it reaches the shelf. The bag keeps out dust and moisture, holds the fold and protects labels and hang tags throughout transport. For retail and e-commerce brands, a bag printed with your logo is also the first brand touchpoint when the customer opens the parcel.

PE or OPP: how to choose

If you value durability when packing into cartons and shipping long distances at a reasonable cost, PE bags are the safe choice: flexible, strong in tension and less likely to split at the edge when stuffed with product. If appearance on display matters most, such as shirts on a shelf or a cake box in a shop, OPP bags are much clearer and glossier, so the product colour and labels show well. Many businesses use both: PE for export goods packed in cartons, OPP for retail goods sold domestically. If you are not sure, HQPAK can send sample bags of both types so you can test them with your real product.

By bag opening

  • Open-top bags: simple and low-cost, closed with tape or a heat sealer.
  • Self-seal bags: a built-in adhesive strip; peel the liner and press to seal, which speeds up the packing line.
  • Zipper bags: a press-to-close zip that opens and closes many times, suited to underwear, socks, accessories and dry food.
  • Bags with hang holes: hang on display hooks in shops.

Suffocation warnings and bag requirements for export goods

Many buyers and import markets require polybags that pack consumer goods to carry a warning about the risk of suffocation to children, usually in one or more languages, with a specified text size and position. Some orders also require vent holes, recycling symbols or item codes. HQPAK prints according to the packing instruction documents your customer provides and sends a proof before production, so a shipment is not rejected because of wrong packaging.

Ordering polybags in 5 steps

  1. Send your request: material, size (width by length, with or without a sealing flap), thickness, bag style, print content and quantity.
  2. Receive a quotation within 24 hours of full specifications: with advice on thickness and material to suit the product.
  3. Print approval: HQPAK sends a proof of the logo position, warning text and symbols, and sends sample bags when you need to test them with the product.
  4. Production, coordinated by HQPAK: film blowing, printing, cutting and sealing to the agreed specification, with size, thickness, seals and printed content checked.
  5. Delivery: 3-7 working days after sample approval for standard orders, and can be delivered together with labels and other accessories; export shipment timing is confirmed in the quotation, and rush orders are agreed separately.

Polybags by industry

Apparel and contract garment factories for export

Self-seal PE bags printed with warnings for each item, larger bags for multi-piece packs, and bags for accessories. Order them together with fabric labels and care labels and size stickers and barcode labels so the packing line has all its materials at the same time.

Electronics and components

PE and zipper bags for components, accessories and charging cables, combined with PE foam bags and barcode and serial labels in the same packaging set.

Fashion and e-commerce

Zipper bags and logo-printed OPP bags keep products neat and professional when they reach the customer.

F&B and FMCG

PP and OPP bags for confectionery, dry food and consumer goods; zipper bags keep the product sealed after opening. For products in direct contact with food, state any material requirements when you place the order.

Export goods, household products and furniture

PE bags printed with suffocation warnings to your buyer's packing instructions, large bags to cover household goods, pillows and small furniture; they go with PE foam rolls and carton labels.

Tips for choosing the right polybag economically

  • Measure the product after folding and add some clearance so it goes in easily without a bag that is too wide and wasteful.
  • Choose just enough thickness: a bag that is too thick wastes plastic and money, and one that is too thin tears when packed into cartons.
  • Print fewer colours: a single-colour logo on a clear bag still stands out and costs far less than multi-colour printing.
  • Add vent holes to large bags so cartons do not bulge when packed.
  • Check your buyer's packing instructions before ordering bags to avoid having to redo them.

What affects the cost of polybags

The cost depends on material, size, thickness, bag style, number of print colours, warning printing, vent holes and quantity. Send your specifications through the quotation request form to receive an exact quotation within 24 hours of full specifications.

Frequently asked questions

What does the cost of polybags depend on?

The cost depends on material (PE, PP or OPP), size, thickness, quantity, bag style (open top, self-seal or zipper), the number of colours in the logo print and extras such as warning prints and vent holes. Thicker and larger bags use more resin, which raises the cost. Send your specifications to HQPAK and we will return a quotation within 24 hours of receiving full specifications.

What is the minimum order quantity for polybags?

The minimum depends on size, thickness and whether the bags carry a logo, because bags are made to order. Plain bags in common sizes are more flexible than bags with your own logo. Tell HQPAK your expected quantity and we will recommend a suitable option.

How long does it take to receive polybags?

Standard orders usually take 3-7 working days after sample approval, depending on quantity and whether a logo is printed; export shipment timing is confirmed in the quotation. Rush orders can be arranged separately.

Should I choose PE or OPP bags for packing clothing?

PE bags are soft, flexible and tough with good tear resistance, a good fit for packing garments and bedding in volume and for export goods. OPP bags are clear, glossy and stiffer, so products look bright on display, but the edges tear more easily. If the bag needs to be opened and closed many times, choose a zipper bag.

Does HQPAK print suffocation warnings on bags?

Yes. HQPAK prints suffocation warnings in one or more languages, recycling symbols and logos, with the content, position and text size your buyer or export market requires. Just send the text or your customer's packing instructions.

What files do I need to send to print my logo on bags?

Send the logo as a vector file (AI, PDF, CDR), the bag size, the print position and the ink colour. If you only have an image of the logo, the HQPAK prepress team will rebuild the file and send a proof before production.

Where does HQPAK deliver polybags?

HQPAK delivers polybags to businesses across Vietnam and supports export orders to international markets. Bags can be delivered together with labels, boxes and foam through the carrier or logistics company you nominate.
